How to apply for the Neo World Mastercard
Check first
- Not if you opened a Neo card recently: no secured Neo card in the last 3 months, or regular Neo card in the last 6 months
- Declined by Neo in the last 30 days: you can't apply again yet
- Check you qualify Income: $50,000 personal or $80,000 household. You need to live in Canada and be the age of majority in your province.
- Have this ready Your address and how long you've lived there, your employer and yearly income, and your monthly rent or mortgage. Your SIN is optional for a credit card; you can leave it blank.
- Expect a credit check Applying adds a hard inquiry to your credit report, which lowers your score a little for a few months. Space applications about 90 days apart.
- Apply on Neo's own site Apply online from the bank's product page. This isn't an affiliate link: we earn nothing if you apply.Apply on Neo's site →
How to use it
- Pick a plan: Gas & Grocery (default), Shop & Dine (2% dining and shopping) or Everywhere (1% on everything). Switch every 90 days in the app
- Groceries and gas: up to $1,000 a month each at 2%. One Neo help article says $500, so watch the in-app tracker
- Bills: phone, internet, utilities, subscriptions, insurance, gym, up to $500 a month
- Rent through Chexy: expect 0.5%, not 2% — bills are a fixed list of merchant codes since June 1, 2026
- Everything else and travel abroad: use another card. This one pays 0.5% and charges 3% on foreign currency
- Example: $800/month groceries + $250/month gas + $300/month bills = $324 a year back ($270 if the $500 cap applies). Capital One Quicksilver World pays $414 on the same spending
